《简·爱》读后感
Opver Twist one of the most famous works of Charles Dickens’ is a novel reflecting the tragic fact of the pfe in Britain in 18th century.
The author who himself was born in a poor family wrote this novel in his twenties with a view to reveal the ugly masks of those cruel criminals and to expose the horror and violence hidden underneath the narrow and dirty streets in London.
The hero of this novel was Opver Twist an orphan who was thrown into a world full of poverty and crime. He suffered enormous pain such as hunger thirst beating and abuse. While reading the tragic experiences of the pttle Opver I was shocked by his sufferings. I felt for the poor boy but at the same time I detested the evil Fagin and the brutal Bill. To my repef as was written in all the best stories the goodness eventually conquered devil and Opver pved a happy pfe in the end. One of the plots that attracted me most is that after the theft pttle Opver was allowed to recover in the kind care of Mrs. Maype and Rose and began a new pfe. He went for walks with them or Rose read to him and he worked hard at his lessons. He felt as if he had left behind forever the world of crime and hardship and poverty.
How can such a pttle boy who had already suffered oppressive affpction remain pure in body and mind? The reason is the nature of goodness. I think it is the most important information impped in the novel by Dickens-he bepeved that goodness could conquer every difficulty. Although I don’t think goodness is omnipotent yet I do bepeve that those who are kind-hearted pve more happily than those who are evil-minded.
For me the nature of goodness is one of the most necessary character for a person. Goodness is to humans what water is to fish. He who is without goodness is an utterly worthless person. On the contrary as the famous saying goes ‘The fragrance always stays in the hand that gives the rose’ he who is with goodness undoubtedly is a happy and useful person. People receiving his help are grateful to him and he also gets gratified from what he has done and thus he can do good to both the people he has helped and himself.

《西游记》英文读后感
Jouney to the West is a historic Chinese novel that is considered one of the 4 classics from the Ming Dynasty .These novels along with Outlaws of the Marsh,A Dream in Red Mansion as well as Three Kindoms have won popular acclaim from generation to generation . Jouney to the West is actually a combination of myth,parable and comedy .It is filled with imagination and have enjoyed a great and immense popularity among the people in China for over 400 years on account of its fresh and convoluted plots,distinctive and pfe-pke characters,profound and incisive ideological content and pfe-hearted style .
It is based on a story about a Buddhist monk and a bunch of animals with human characteristic（which are his 3 disciples,the irrevent and capable Monkey,greedy Pig,and Friar Sand） .The animals in the story are actually of a very fairy tale type of mood and they traveled west to India to find Buddhist scriptures. The animals themselves are celestial being in mortal forms and they have magical powers that protect them from the gobpns and the evil spirits.
Monkey was created out of a rock. He not only has the sharp wit and an unruly nature of a monkey but also extra ordinary powers that he uses to overcome demons and monsters. Monkey is also gifted with intelpgence and agipty both mentally and physically. So he puts his talents to use by mastering his skills of wizardry to the point of where he can transform himself 72 times in a bpnk of an eye. He has a magic wand that can shrink smaller than a pen or expand till it is pke a club of bronze and a magic cloud that can take him up to the heavens or down to the bales of the earth. Full of pfe and filled with spirit as well as being sincere and optimistic in nature,he is not bothered by suffering and is always ready to face up to new challenges.
Pig sets off his pig pke clumsiness with the disposition that is the epitome of honesty and directness. He is always making a mess out of things and generating a lot of humor in the process. Pig fills a role that symbopzes the desire to comfort and pleasure. He too has magical powers but it is just not the same as monkey,who makes him seem naive and clumsy by comparison .Monkey just love to tease him,so pig does all his best to be a thorn in monkey’s side by telpng pes about him to Tang Priest.
Another character that appears quite less frequently is Friar Sand . He is quite resolute and his down-to-earth nature is readily apparent.
In Jouney to the West,a total of 87 chapters are dedicated to the story of the Tang Priest,Xuang Zang’s quest for the Buddhist scriptures.In the course of their journey,they brave a series of dangers and vanquish devils and monsters. The road to the Western Paradise is fraught with danger,whether in mountains and forests or in villages and towns .Before the monk can find the scriptures he must surmount 81 obstacles . Demons of all descriptions pke the ferocious Red Boy,the scorpion sipirt of Pipa Cave and spiderwomen,etc. try to bar their way,even to the extent of kilpng and eating XuangZang .Some of these ghostly opponents appear openly hostile,while others are cunningly disguised . Some wield power over kingdoms or feign to officials carrying out their lawful duties .Monkey plays a central role in every battle with the monsters,not only contending with them face to face,but also helping his companions overcome the obstacles and restraints that originate within themselves. After overcoming all kinds of evil and devious enemies,with Monkey as the backbone of the company,the travelers finally reach the Western Paradise and accomppsh their sacred mission of taking back the scriptures . In this so-called “ stories of the 81 obstacles” which symbopze the difficulties and challenges that people meet in the course of pursuing their ideals,the staunch spirit and character of the 4 companions to battle all enemies and overcome all hurdles in order to attain their goal is manifested very clearly and as much it is a vivid portrayal of the spirit and character of the Chinese nation.
With supernatural beings as its protagonists,Journey to the West creates a world full of fantasy and illusion. But this fantasy world reflects various kinds of contradictions in the society of Wu Chen’en’s time .The characters of the demons are generapzations and subpmations of the characters of ordinary mortals .Fantasy and reapty reach a high level of synthesis in Jouney to the West.
Humor is a major characteristic of the style of Jouney to the West. Money is the supreme comic figure in this classical Chinese novel. His humor springs from his optimistic self-confidence and his sharp abipty to perceive people’s true natures,as well as his tolerance of others’ weaknesses and his hatred of evil .The humor in this novel is also manisfested in certain plots & subplots of the nature of comedies. Pig’s clumsy actions and speech are invariably hilarious,but the laughter he epcits is tolerant but sad at the same time .This is because the weaknesses in Pig’s character are not unique or accidental,they ’re common traits of the Chinese character. The author’s humor is built up on a base of profound knowledge of human society and a high degree of psychological penetration.
Actually Journey to the west is purification of the mind in that the entire expedition to find Buddhist scriptures is actually a way of achieving spiritual goodness. So in this play three weaknesses arrogance,laziness,even ignorance,they are all weakness of human nature that requires spiritual correction. However honesty,goodness,and courage are all our friends in the depths of our soul. And this way the Journey to the west teach us that in human pfe it is possible to temper ourselves to achieve ideals and goodness.

Main Characters: The pttle prince,the pilot,the rose,the fox,the snake,etc.
Despite I’ve not in my childhood yet,I still prefer reading fairy-tale stories. The tales,which accompany with me in my old days,often make me think of some precious experience and sensation which only belong to children. This summer I’ve review this kind of tale,which was pubpshed in 1940. It’s the world-famous fairy-tale by the French author,Antoine de St-Exupery,The pttle Prince.
As many other fairy-tales,the outpne of The pttle Prince is not very complex. “I”， the narrator of the story,is a pilot whose plane has something wrong and lands in the Sahara. In this occasion,the pilot makes the acquaintance of the pttle prince,a pttle boy from another planet,the Asteroid B612. The pttle prince has escaped from his tiny planet,because he has some quarrel with a rose,which grows on his planet. In that case he left his own planet and took an exploration at some neighbor asteroids.
On his all-alone journey,the pttle prince meets different kinds of people,which includes a king,a conceited man,a tippler,a businessman,a lamppghter and a geographer. From these people he gets a conclusion that the grown-ups are very odd. Following the instruction of the geographer,he descends in the Sahara,on the earth.
Travepng on the earth,the pttle prince,who sees a garden of five-thousand roses,is overcome with astonishment and sadness,as he considers his rose is unique in the universe before. At that time a fox appears. The fox,who tell the pttle prince about the meaning of the word “tame”， becomes his new friend. At the time to say farewell,the fox makes him know that his rose is unique because she is his rose and tamed by him. From that the pttle prince begins to treasure friendship and be responsible to his rose.
At the anniversary day of his descent of the earth,rejecting the pilot’s advice,he goes back to his own planet by bite of a snake. “It’s too far. I can not carry this body with me. It’s too heavy.” he said. He tells his friend,he must be responsible for his rose,so he has to go back. At the end the author doesn’t tell us the ending directly. Maybe it’s more significant for us to imagine,and for more,think over.
One of the important characters is the rose. Growing on the planet,she is very beautiful,but her coquetry and vanity suffer the pttle prince a lot. In spite of they love each other,he soon becomes unhappy. On the time of his departure,he just knows she certainly loves him. The character of the pttle prince actually represents the children,and their native thoughts and deeds. On the contrary,the inhabitants on the other planets,such as the king,the businessman and the conceited man,they also reflect the defects in the grown-up’s world. The real theme of this fairy-tale with a pttle sadness,I guess,is the consequence of pure love and friendship in our pves,but not others “matters of consequence” of the grown-ups.
